That project influenced my outlook quite a bit. I try to choose projects that incorporate some existing knowledge, but that push me to learn something new and apply it. The primary thing I disliked about schooling was the lack of application. There is nothing more satisfying than grasping a new concept and then creating something that takes advantage of that understanding. The knowledge itself is not gratifying without implementation.
