The Godox R200 is a high powered flash that provides 200Ws(200 joules) or about 1300 lux of illumination at 0.5m. This flash is about 3 times as powerful as a Cannon EL-5.
I run this flash with a custom 3D printed light polarizer. This compliments the polarizer on the camera to create cross polarization which makes the image flatter by removing specular highlights. This allows scanning glossy objects. Because this flash is so powerful, the polarized light can usually overpower any ambient light so that I do not have to set up a completely dark space to get good scanning results.
